Thought for the Month
Seasons of My Life
By Yolanda Cohen
In the spring time I was full of dreams
and fairy tales a few
I had some happiness and hurts
and burned a bridge or two
Then moving on to summer time
All those dreams put in the past
Reality came crashing in
I found that promises don't last
I held on to summer time
Live it with all my might
Savored all it offered me
And held on real, real tight
Too soon the season changed again
And autumn was now in view
Was then I had to change my pace
Everything had a different hue
Now I wonder what lies ahead
With winter coming on
I'll hold the memories of summer tight
Lest one day they might be gone
